The Goethe-Institut Hongkong is a vital cultural and educational institute established in 1963 as the local branch of Germany’s global cultural organization, which was originally founded in Munich in 1951. Backed by the Federal Republic of Germany, its mission is to promote the study of the German language abroad and to foster dynamic, international cultural exchange and trust between Germany, Hong Kong, and the wider world. Rather than existing in a standalone building, it is strategically located on the 14th floor of the iconic Hong Kong Arts Centre in Wan Chai, serving as an integrated civic hub.
