Gallery · Hong Kong
Established in 2007 by Belgium-born gallerist Sarah Greene, Blue Lotus Gallery has grown to become one of Hong Kong’s premier independent art spaces with a specific, dedicated focus on photography. Located in the historic Tai Ping Shan area of Sheung Wan, the gallery began its journey by exploring various artistic mediums before finding its true calling in photography, a shift catalyzed by its landmark discovery of the legendary master photographer Fan Ho's work in 2012. The core mission of Blue Lotus Gallery is to explore, celebrate and preserve Hong Kong’s unique cultural identity and heritage. It achieves this by presenting compelling visual narratives that capture the soul of the city from both historical and contemporary perspectives, bridging the gap between old and new Hong Kong. The gallery actively nurtures the careers of local and international emerging artists while exclusively representing major estates and icons like Fan Ho and Wing Shya. Beyond hosting curated exhibitions, the gallery expanded its mission to cultural preservation by launching its own publishing house, Blue Lotus Editions, ensuring that these vital visual archives of Asian and Hong Kong heritage are safeguarded and shared with a global audience.
