WKM Gallery

Gallery · Hong Kong

Established in 2023 and located on the 20th floor of the Coda Designer Centre in the industrial art district of Wong Chuk Hang, WKM Gallery was founded by William Kayne Mukai, a gallerist of half-French and half-Japanese heritage. Reflecting its founder's background, the gallery operates with a distinct mission to bridge cultures by showcasing both emerging and established global artists, initially focusing on strengthening creative ties between Japan and Hong Kong before expanding to weave international art into the local landscape. The gallery’s space design seamlessly blends sleek Japanese architectural elements with Wong Chuk Hang's raw industrial atmosphere, embracing the Japanese concept of "ma", the physical or temporal space between elements, to serve as a quiet threshold that fosters a deep, personal connection between the viewer and the art. In its exhibition history, WKM Gallery has quickly built high-profile momentum by staging major exhibitions, such as welcoming celebrated Japanese designer and artist Jun Takahashi for his first overseas solo show, and presenting curated showcases of prominent regional and international figures.
