Kiang Malingue is a highly influential contemporary commercial art gallery originally founded in Hong Kong in 2010 by husband-and-wife duo Edouard Malingue and Lorraine Kiang. Initially opened under the name Edouard Malingue Gallery, it underwent a major rebranding in 2022 to officially integrate both of their surnames, honoring their long-standing partnership in life and work. The gallery's primary mission is to build a critical, boundary-pushing dialogue between international contemporary artists—both emerging and established—who balance aesthetic craftsmanship with deep conceptual inquiry across disciplines like video, installation, sound, and painting. Known for its nomadic and adaptive architectural choices, the gallery has relocated multiple times to mirror the fast-paced energy of the city; it currently operates out of an industrial studio space in Tin Wan and a uniquely intimate, vertical headquarters in a converted 1960s tenement building in Wan Chai, while expanding its global footprint with a permanent space in New York City. By championing a strong roster of cutting-edge Asian and international voices, Kiang Malingue serves as a crucial incubator and major pillar of Hong Kong's evolution into a world-class hub for contemporary art.
