Tang Contemporary Art is one of the most influential art galleries in the entire Asian panorama. Founded by the gallery owner Zheng Lin in 1997 in Bangkok, it was born with the ambitious intent of promoting Chinese contemporary art and making it dialogue with the rest of the world. In Hong Kong, the gallery boasts a strategic presence with two locations in the neuralgic districts of city art: the Central Space, located in the iconic H Queen's a Central skyscraper, and the Wong Chuk Hang Space, a more experimental space within the converted industrial district of Landmark South (building that also houses the new headquarters of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council). The strength of the gallery lies in a curatorial line that combines research on the territory and the global market: in fact, it works both to promote emerging talents from the Asian scene and with heavyweights already established on the international scene, among which the names of Ai Weiwei, Yue Minjun and the duo of sculptors Sun Yuan & Peng Yu stand out.
