Officially established in 2017 on Shanghai Street in Yau Ma Tei, PRÉCÉDÉE is an independent alternative art venue and gallery celebrated as one of Hong Kong's smallest yet most innovative art spaces. Founded by local artist Man Tin, the space operates under a radical mission to democratize and redefine the accessibility of visual culture by breaking down traditional spatial and scheduling barriers, remarkably remaining open to the public 24 hours a day. In its exhibition history, the minimalist venue has captured significant domestic and international media attention for its immersive, boundary-pushing projects, conceptual installations, and cross-disciplinary pop-ups such as its notable "Forever x Change" continuous performance project and neighborhood creative collaborations. By transforming a highly condensed storefront into a constantly operating creative platform, PRÉCÉDÉE functions as a critical grassroots hub that bridges the raw urban fabric of old Kowloon directly with cutting-edge, contemporary artistic dialogue.
