Sun Museum launched the inaugural "Hong Kong Paintings in Sai Yuen Lane" Exhibition — an open call for paintings from artists across Hong Kong — when relocated to the new premises in 2024. The overwhelming response and encouraging results inspired the Museum to establish this exhibition as a permanent biennial event. It is also this year's "Sun Salon" programme, aiming to transform the Museum’s gallery into a space for artistic exchange. A total of 118 works by 93 artists were selected for "The 2nd Hong Kong Paintings in Sai Yuen Lane" exhibition, which are held in two phases and exhibits are organised by theme: Phase I focuses on cityscapes and figures, while Phase II features landscapes, animals and plants, and abstraction. We hope that through these paintings, visitors will encounter unexpected moments of inspiration and witness the inexhaustible creative power of this city
