The Evolution of Yoliartist
Transformation is at the heart of Yoliartist, the artistic name of Oi Lin Irene Yeung. Based in Hong Kong, Irene first became known for her work in metalware design through Derangedsign, the studio she founded in 2020. With more than a decade of experience in sheet metalworking, she built her early practice around precision, balance, and material sensitivity. Her metal designs were never only functional. Inspired by Chinese philosophy, yin-yang principles, mindfulness, and Hong Kong’s cultural heritage, they turned everyday objects into quiet reflections on harmony and coexistence. Today, Irene carries that same thinking into contemporary painting. As Yoliartist, she has moved from the hard structure of metal to the softer, more fluid language of paint.
