Light, Structure, and the Rhythm of Colour by Dan Flavin
Light itself becomes architecture. Located in the bustling streets of Central, Dan Flavin arranges these fluorescent tubes in strict geometric sequences that radiate vivid hues – red, yellow, blue, and green. He transforms the gallery into a luminous field of rhythm and pattern. The works explore how repetition and structure can shift perception: grids that might otherwise feel rigid are softened by chromatic glow, becoming dynamic, almost musical. Each installation balances order with play, inviting viewers to move through colour as though navigating a score of light. By intersecting geometry with radiance, the exhibition asks us to reconsider the grid not as a constraint, but as a possibility – a framework where light and space pulse together, shaping news ways of seeing.
