Painting in Hong Kong

Hermia Wong graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) with Distinction from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University, Australia (joint degree with Hong Kong Art School) in 2021. She is a Hong Kong based artist specializing in paintings, drawing and objects that allow her to explore the relationship with the environment. Hermia’ works are inspired by the environment and the mode of living. They render with rich colours that capture the essence of the images. To Hermia “Painting is a subjective way of seeing to create a space for the dialogue. From my perspective and imagination, painting is my expression of emotion and it is a choice of interpretation, composition and colours. Through my personal observation, I explore the aesthetics of subtle reflection of reality.” She is the recipient of the “Best of Show” with cash award in the “Landscapes” by Colors of Humanity Art Gallery, USA (2021). She was also awarded the “Talent Prize Award” with cash award in “Color International Juried Art Competition” by Teravarna Art Gallery, USA (2023). Hermia’ works have been exhibited extensively in Hong Kong and Asia in several galleries and art fairs. Recent exhibitions include Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong (2025) (2024) (2023), “Collect Hong Kong” by Hong Kong Arts Centre at Pao Galleries (2026) (2025), “The Power of Empowerment” by Kambal Gallery at HKVAC and Aberdeen Marina Club (2025), “An Evening with Arts” by American Club Foundation at American Club HK (2024), “Day and Night” by A Gallery (2024), “Hotel Art Fair” in Bangkok (2024), “The Collectible Art Fair” by Hong Kong Arts Centre at Hong Kong Arts Centre (2023), “Pockets” by HKARTS at Centre Point (2023), “This place we call home” by HKARTS at W Hong Kong Hotel (2023). Hermia’s artworks are collected by various overseas and local collectors including legendary film director.
