Gie Drius is an innovative audio-visual artist based in Hong Kong, with a rich cultural heritage rooted in Lithuania. Growing up amidst his father's film productions sparked a lifelong passion for cinematic storytelling and artistic expression. Surrounded by art books and visionary parents – a master linguist & teacher; and a painter, art & film director – Gie developed a unique creative voice. His early explorations in music led to traditional classical choir performances, but eventually veered into experimental audio sampling and avant-garde soundscapes. As he formed multiple rowdy bands, he discovered the thrill of live performance and multi-media experimentation. Residencies at AS220 in Providence, R.I., USA, and various arts communes in NYC further fuelled his creative fire, inspiring new ways to express himself through music, visual arts, theatre, and comedy. Today, you’ll find Gie exploring the intersections of art, technology, and human experience, seeking new modes of expression and communication with audiences.
