Richard Crosbie is a Welsh artist based in Hong Kong since 1996. Originally a product designer in the toy industry, Richard experienced a profound transformation during the pandemic, leading him to pursue art with a focus on the vibrant scenes of life in Hong Kong. Transitioning from computer-based design to traditional art media, he explores watercolour, ink, acrylic, pastels and oils. Working both outdoors when urban sketching as well as creating concentrated works of fine detail in the studio, Richard aims to capture the essence of life in the territory across different scales — from individual figures, bustling markets to cityscapes and serene harbour views.
